At NorthStar Industries, we're always excited to share our latest projects, especially when they contribute to safer and more sustainable urban living. Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting the project site in downtown Toronto, where the installation of Raised Uni-Directional Cycle Track Platforms at all bus stops along a 20-block stretch has almost all been completed. This innovative development enhances cyclist safety and comfort while also improving public transportation efficiency.
The newly implemented bike paths are designed to elevate cyclists above street level at each bus stop, creating a dedicated space free from the hustle and bustle of bus and car traffic. This ensures that cyclists can navigate through the city more safely, fostering a friendlier environment for all modes of transportation.
Our high-quality Trench Drain system was specified for this project to prevent water pooling in the raised areas, promoting effective drainage and maintaining the usability of the bike line. To support this project, we installed a total of 18 trench drain runs—one at each bus stop in the area—ensuring optimal drainage and safety for all users. Additionally, our F900 Hot Dipped Galvanized Grating (HDG) assures durability; even under the weight and movement of snow removal equipment, cars, or buses, our trench drain system remains unharmed and fully functional.
We take great pride in the collaboration with our dedicated contractor on this project. With our speedy responsiveness and locally available inventory, we were able to meet the demands of a project of this size seamlessly. In total, we provided 200 meters of Trench Drain and 400 HDG grates, along with necessary accessories. Our logistics team arranged for delivery right as the products were needed on-site, showcasing our commitment to efficiency and customer service.
Having a local warehouse and our own delivery fleet was instrumental in the success of this project. This not only ensured that materials were readily available but also allowed for timely deliveries, keeping the project on schedule and within budget.
